cairo is in egypt.
I’ve heard a theory that codenames like Chicago (Win 95), Nashville (cancelled Win 96) and Memphis (Win 98) were all answers to the “Where Do You Want To Go Today?” ad campaign. It would certainly fit in the theme of cities (although Cairo is far away from the American cities*) and it’s from the same time period, so it seems reasonable to extend the theory to Win NT4.MajorSky17 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:36 am
Yes. One of the more random codenames Microsoft used...I wonder what the reason was for it?
Don't think I've ever heard this but it would seem to make a lot of sense! *Side-note; Cairo may be a long distance from the US, but the City of Memphis, Tennessee is named after the ancient Egyptian capital, also called Memphis!
and now when I hear Memphis, I think of getting suspended from tiwtter.Spi0 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 10:55 amI’ve heard a theory that codenames like Chicago (Win 95), Nashville (cancelled Win 96) and Memphis (Win 98) were all answers to the “Where Do You Want To Go Today?” ad campaign.
